Create a set of designs for a series of 7 related products, each with a different structure.

 

Couch Potatoes • “are u ready 2 party like a couch potato?”

Imagine a slumber party for adults. After a long week of school work or a busy job, all you want to do is kick back and enjoy a relaxing night of self care and rest–or in the case of a couch potato, indulge in laziness with friends.

DESIGN CONCEPT

Slumber party made easy-this kit has everything you need to throw the laziest slumber party ever. It includes a Polaroid camera, sleeping mask, face mask, cheese puffs, wine (with silly straws to sip), nail polish set, and fuzzy slippers. An invitation is also included, which could be sent out as well.

THEMATIC TREATMENT

The theme for this project was retro digital, made super girly with bubblegum pink, red, and white being the main color palette. The imagery used includes all pixelated art, emojis, and “text language” and emoticons. I took a lot of inspiration from old 90’s computer and website interfaces and the look of the old Windows PC appearance. The language used in the copy and item titles were written to be funny, like you are receiving a text message from a friend.

MATERIALS

All packages were printed on gloss cover stock and assembled by hand. The sleeping mask box and wine carrier were constructed with cardboard.
